Video-Review: Wingback Brass Ballpoint

Wingback is a London-based independent design studio that has built a reputation in the stationery world around a handful of simple ideas: make things that last, make them beautifully, and make them in Britain.

Their writing instruments – machined from aerospace-grade metal – embody exactly that philosophy. The Brass Ballpoint writing implement (there are also mechanical pencils and fountain pens) is perhaps the purest expression of this idea: no frills, no gimmicks, just a reassuringly solid piece of metal (in case of the pen reviewed here: brass) that you’ll want to keep carrying in everyday life for a very long time.

Brass, of course, is a material with its own personality. It has weight, warmth, and – over time – a patina that makes every pen uniquely yours. The Wingback Brass Ballpoint leans into all of that. It’s a pen that will look different in five years than it does today, and that’s very much the point of it.

Before we hop into the review, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Appelboompennen for supporting the review of this pen. You can also buy the pen in their webshop (no affiliate – just a friendly pointer).

Check out the video-review below, which is as always preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!
