Normally I don’t spend too much time with ballpoint pens, but there are a few truly iconic staples of the stationery world that deserve a place in any collection — and the Lamy Safari is certainly one of them.
Its design has become a classic since its launch in the 1980s, instantly recognizable and still going strong today.
For me personally, this pen model carries a lot of meaning, since I also had the chance some years ago to interview its designer — which makes covering the Safari here feel like closing a small loop in some way.
Before we hop into the review, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Fontoplumo in the Netherlands for supporting this review. You can also buy the pen at their webshop (no affiliate-link, just a friendly pointer).
The video is, as always, preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!

[…] Video-Review: Lamy Safari (Ballpoint) (via Scrively). I personally love the Lamy Safari ballpoint, from the click mechanism to the refill, though if you’re not a fan of the M16 you can always sub in the Jetstream M17. […]
Have the Vista ballpoint medium black myself.
You can’t beat the Uniball Jetstream medium black capped.
As far as fountain pens, found the Preppy better than the Safari.
