The Passepartout B6 Notebook Cover from Ateliers Phileas is a pared-back interpretation of their well-known Yokohama design — created in response to customers who wanted the same craftsmanship, but in a simpler, more minimal format.
By removing the extra elements — no card pockets, no strap, no pen loop — and producing it in India, Ateliers Phileas created a more accessible alternative to the Yokohama while keeping the same materials, proportions, and spirit.
Offered exclusively in B6, it hits that sweet spot between portability and usability.
Made from Indian goatskin, the cover has a naturally fine grain and a soft feel. It’s been dyed in Ateliers Phileas’ signature Ai-iro (Japanese Indigo) colour, an elegant blue that sits between grey-blue and deep indigo depending on the light.
What is amazing is that this colour is also available as an affordable Diamine ink, especially made for Atelier’s Phileas.
Before we hop into the review, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Ateliers Phileas for supporting the review of this notebook cover. You can also buy the Passepartout notebook covers in their webshop (no affiliate – just a friendly pointer).
The video is, as always, preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!
