The Waldmann Edelfeder with its grain-and-line guilloché pattern combines a traditional, gently rounded shape with the sort of sterling-silver metalwork for which Waldmann is known.
Its black lacquer is offset by 925 sterling silver, platinum-plated trim and a finely barley-corn patterned cap. The overall effect is restrained from a distance, but considerably more detailed once the pen is in hand.
The Edelfeder is a substantial pen without being oversized. It uses standard international cartridges or the included converter, closes with a screw cap and comes with Waldmann’s 10-year warranty.
“Edelfeder” is a German word, and loosely translates to “noble quill”, or so. “Feder” can be a birds feather, a spring, or in this case: a quill – the logo and emblem of this writing instrument.
