Video-Review: Pilot Prera (white)

Japanese fountain pens are one of a kind. They are said to be very exquisite writing instruments, which, more often than not, is true. Japanese fine writing instruments often excel with simple but appealing design and very well tuned nibs that provide a great writing experience.

Pilot, besides Platinum and Sailor, is one of the ‘big three’ Japanese fountain pen manufacturers. The Prera fountain pen that I review here is an interesting pen insofar, as it is the entry level into Pilots “Fine Writing-Collection“. Also, it is the first Pilot fountain pen that I review from this range, so I thought it might be a good starting point. I hope to be able to bring to you more reviews of Pilot pens from the Fine Writing-range in the near future, too. For now, let’s start out with the Prera!

Check out the video-review below, which is, as always, preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!

Nice review of the pen. I think it is an overlooked pen in the beginner fountain pen category. I am split you feeling about the ink capacity of the con-50 converter. I do like changing out inks frequently so it is a plus, but I also tend to do a lot of writing at once. It isn’t a deal breaker for me because I can carry ink with me or use a Pilot cartridge. I just refill the cartridge with my ink choice and seal it off.

Thanks for your comment, Laurie! I agree with you. The pen often goes unnoticed. The con 50 also isn’t a dealbreaker for me – I just thought it’s important to point out. Thanks for stopping by, again ?.
