Video-Review: Makers Cabinet “Ferrule”

Makers Cabinet continues to delight us with its artefact approach to stationery – making items that truly tease apart mindsets on how to approach stationery: getting-things-done at the best possible cost-benefit-ratio vs. stationery as experience with a pinch of luxury/heirloom/sustainability.

Just in case it is not clear by now: Makers Cabinet is to be found in the latter camp.

I have already reviewed some of their products in the past:

  • There was the Hovel – a pencil plane, admittedly with certain practical limitations, but definitely a piece of sheer beauty that is useful, unique, and likely will last a lifetime+.
  • Then we had the Stria folding ruler – a tool that looks more like an architects device than a stationery item, and truly represents the enamoured approach that Makers Cabinet takes.

What we look at today is, well, just like above pencil sharpener and ruler, another essential, very very basic, and age-old piece of stationery: a simple pencil extender!

So what, you ask, can you possible do to re-invent a pencil extender and turn it into something truly iconic? Look no further, as Makers Cabinet has come up with their take on the answer.

Do you like it?

Before we hop into the review, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Makers Cabinet for supporting the review of this stationery item. You can also buy the Ferrule in their webshop (no affiliate – just a friendly pointer).

Check out the video-review below, which is as always preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!
