Most people who appreciate fountain pens do have a somewhat ambivalent relationship to, say, ballpoint pens. If a ballpoint pen is used, it is often for some of the more pragmatic use cases, e.g. blueprints, dirty or rugged environments, or simply for the pragmatics of push-a-button-and-ready. No much uncapping.

Well, there is a remedy to that, even in the fountain pen world! It is called ‘retractable nib pens’ – just that there aren’t too many choices out there.

Certainly, there is the legendary Pilot Capless/Vanishing Point. Recently the Platinum Curidas has joined those ranks. With Lamy, there is also a German make out of Heidelberg: the Lamy Dialog, one of Lamy’s flagship models.

And since I seem to be on somewhat of a Lamy review spree those days (plus you haven’t seen my backlog!), I am happy to have been able to examine that one closer for you.
