Video Review: Pelikan Souverän M800 Brown-Black (Special Edition)

I know. Pelikan Special Edition galore. Same procedure as every year with our friends from Hannover. On these pages here, this year we already had the M101N Grey-Blue and the M1005 Stresemann.

Late autumn is typically M800 SE time. Just so this year. Pelikan brings to us a brown striped version of the M800, called the “Brown-Black”. The pen is quite reminiscent of the massively popular Brown-Tortoise – that meantime is next to impossible to get a hold of – but with some significant differences as well.

In this review, I show you the Brown-Black, and I do compare it to an M400 Brown-Tortoise (to show the difference in material and brown-tones in cap and piston knob) as well as to an M805 Stresemann & M600 in order to show some more differences and similarities in the material.

If you are interested in this pen, I think it makes sense to move quickly. Once these are gone, they will a few years down the line quite likely be next to impossible to get. Looking at you again, M800 Brown-Tortoise. And M800 Burnt Orange. Guys: if any of you have one of these for sale for a reasonable price – kindly get in touch. I might be interested.

Before we hop into the review, I would like to take the opportunity to thank La Couronne du Comte in the Netherlands for supporting this video overview. You can also buy the Pelikan M800 Brown-Black at their webshop (no affiliate-link, just a friendly pointer).

But now, check out the video-overview below, which is as always preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!
