Video-Review: Lamy Studio (racing green)

The Lamy Studio is a pen that I have reviewed before – and it still is one of my favorite Lamy pen designs. While I also am still ambivalent about the chrome section that can get slippery, I was immediately drawn to the classy new color that the Studio has been released in recently: racing green. Lets have a look at that one.

The video is, as always, preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!

Quick Facts

  • Lamy Studio – Fountain Pen (racing green)
  • Stainless steel body with a soft-lacquer finish

Another good review of another nice looking pen. However, one thing does irritate me. A pen at this price point should include a converter. I don’t live in a metropolitan area. I live in a rural area and there are no stores nearby which sell Lamy cartridges.

Refilling the cartridge as you did is a workaround.. And the Lamy cartridges are unusually sturdy. However, eventually they will wear out and you’ll need more cartridges or a converter to use the pen.

I I’ve been using fountain pens for the better part of 20 years now. I have spare Lamy cartridges and converters on hand. But the novice who buys one of these pens will initially be at a disadvantage.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next review.

I do agree with you 100%. A pen at this price point should include a converter. Some retailers fortunately are of the same opinion and throw one in themselves (such as The Pen Company for instance).
