It’s no secret: there are few Italian pens that I personally like design-wise – no offence intended. While I can totally appreciate the art in them, and also see why many people do like them, the over-the-topness of many Montegrappas as well as the swirly-marblyness (yeah, I know these are all not real-life words) of many Viscontis is just not for me.
An exception to that are many Aurora pen designs. While they often are colourful, the color is either kept at one-color-a-pen (thinking some of the 88’s) or at a more subtle marbling (thinking some Optimas).
Another Aurora pen that is right up my alley is a rather recent pen, a 1950s vintage re-release: the DuoCart. The pen-design is something in between a Parker 51 and a Lamy 2000 – both pens that I am a great fan of. Since I also received a couple of review-requests for the Aurora DuoCart, I was happy to get my hands on one of these in order to bring to you a review of this pen.
