Sailor ProGear (RT) – Fountain Pen Review

I have already pointed it out in other recent reviews, and I will say it again: For some reason, my product- and review-interests those days seem to increasingly revolve around Japanese stationery. Not that it was a conscious decision, but I think I just feel drawn towards the often minimalist design and often (not all the time) top-notch product quality of Japanese stationery products. Having that said, please do expect more Japanese stationery on these pages in the nearer future. Not exaggeratedly a lot more, though. No worries. I will try to remain balance to other things. This will not become a “Japanese stationery blog”. On that note, there are plans to overhaul the site and site concept a little in 2018. But more on that another time.

As to the review business at hand: This is not the first ProGear that I have reviewed. There has been a review of the gold trimmed ProGear a while back, which had an Extra Fine nib on. While I generally prefer silver trimmed pens, the EF on that ProGear also was a tad too fine for my liking, so I really wanted to see how a Fine would compare to this. I’m glad I went that route, because the F of the pen in this review here is a lot easier to handle – at least for me personally – and that very ProGear is rarely not to be found in my pen rotation.

Before we hop into the review, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the kind people at La Couronne du Comte for supporting the review of this pen. You can also buy the Sailor ProGear at their webshop (no affiliate-link).

But now, check out the video-review below, which is as always preceded by some quick facts. Again, I hope the review is helpful and that you enjoy watching it!

I really enjoy your posts…but I do wish you would just once, review something that isn’t black or brown 🙂

Thank you very much! Always feel free to suggest something! There is a review of a blue Marte Modena somewhere on here 🙂 . Does that qualify? 😉
