KWZ Ink Orange on standard copy paper

KWZ Ink is probably a lesser know brand compared to the Pilots and Pelikans of this world, since it is basically done by a very friendly couple in Poland, Konrad and Agnieszka. So no massive marketing, production and distribution power – but very well behaved and extremely affordable ink!

The color “Orange” is a very solid, pure and intense orange. Other orange inks that I have seen so far (e.g. Pelikan Mandarin) are normally a bit lighter. On standard paper, the ink has quite some hints of red to it, which is not that evident on Leuchtturm paper. There is some lovely shading to the ink on better paper, which is unfortunately almost totally lost on cheaper paper (which is not the inks fault, but rather normal).

As with the KWZ Ink “Honey” that I have recently reviewed, “Orange” also has a quite noticeable smell to it, that I would – as with the “Honey” ink – describe as a certainly not unpleasant scent on the warm-sweetish side. However, it is less intense than with the “Honey” ink, where the smell is not to escape 🙂 .

Pricewise, the ink is very affordable. For such an interesting looking, well-behaved ink there really is nothing to complain. The price leans towards the Diamine price-niveau.

As for its ‘leftyness’, the ink is absolutely amazing. For some reason, most orange inks dry extremely fast. KWZ Ink “Orange” is no exception to that. Even thought it is a pretty wet ink that lubricates very well and is a pleasure to write with, it dries extremely fast: about 8 seconds on Leuchtturm paper and about 3 seconds only on standard copy paper.

Lefty approved? Most definitely!

I hope this was helpful – feel free to check out my other ink reviews as well.
